Living A Kreative Life
by emmanuel arciga on Oct 31, 2018
“Follow your dreams.” “Live the life you love.” “Chase your passion.” Quotes that are shared daily on social media, inked across wrists and stuck onto car bumpers. We all seem to be obsessed with inspirational quotes these days. But are we actually practicing what we preach?
If you’re like most people, you’re living in a box, confined by limiting beliefs of how you should be living. You’re dreaming, and you’re dreaming big. But you’re falling short when it comes to acting upon those dreams. The biggest challenge is not just to think outside the box, but to live outside the box. To do so, you need to come up with creative ways to break down the barriers holding you back.
Your life is not handed to you. It’s something that YOU create. If there’s something you’re not happy with, make a change. Living the life you love is purely about your mindset, and all you really need is a passion for something and the motivation to chase it.
If there were no “norm” and no expectations, what would you want to do? This is YOUR life. It’s time to pursue your own dream, not anyone else’s.
Maybe you’ve wanted to travel, but failed to act on this dream because you think you either don’t have the time or can’t afford it. In reality, these excuses are just that – excuses. You have the time. You have 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year. You’ve just filled your schedule with alternative (prioritized) activities. You may say you can’t save enough money, but the reality is that you’re just spending that money on your house, car payments, or your $4 Starbucks every morning. If travel, or whatever your passion is, really means a lot to you, it should become a priority.
Once your goal is prioritized, break down all borders to achieve it. Just as Kreative Living adheres to no boundaries and knows that there is no right or wrong when it comes to art, view the world as your blank canvas and your mind the paintbrush. Be creative and fearless in the pursuit of your dreams.
If you want to travel but have “no time” maybe you start with short day trips, weekends away, or just quit everything and go explore with nothing holding you back. If you have “no money” maybe you look into couch surfing, ridesharing, join volunteer programs or even try to work abroad. Where there’s a will, there’s a way. If you want something bad enough, don’t just wait to see if it will happen. Go figure out how to make it happen.
So you know those things you’ve been wanting to do? You should go do them because you are the only one holding yourself back. Start now. The rest of your story is full of blank pages that only you can write. You can’t go back and create a new beginning, but you can begin now and create your own ending. Go ahead. Break down those walls. Chase your dreams. Pursue your Kreative Living. Most importantly, Do YOU.
